Jaime Suzanne Marquez, Owner/Broker Associate - Mrs. Marquez has spent over 15 years in commercial multifamily brokerage and multifamily development with national and Phoenix area firms. Jaime is a licensed real estate broker in Colorado and has a Colorado Subdivision Developer License. She also has a real estate sales license in Arizona. Her industry involvement includes 3 years on the Board of the Urban Land Institute Arizona District Council and Founding Chair of their Young Leaders Group and a number of other National and State industry memberships. In Durango, Jaime is a Board Member for Music in the Mountains and is a member of the Home Builder Association's Women's Council. In additional to owning The Sterling Companies, Mrs. Marquez is also Vice President of Development for Butte Companies, a Phoenix based family real estate development company specializing in unique niche market driven developments including condo conversions and luxury mid-rise condominium properties She is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in Political Science and Economics. Jaime is married to Luis Marquez, a custom homebuilder with experience in Arizona and Colorado, and has three sons.


Luis F. Marquez, Co-Owner and Facilities Manager - Luis started his construction career in the Phoenix area with Pulte Homes, a major national builder in production building where efficiency and timing are key.  Then, over the next 10 years he successfully completed projects with various builders ranging from a $10,000,000 high-end vacation home to a commercial elevator served condo tower to an award-winning private golf clubhouse.  Luis specializes in meeting client expectations through clear communications, detailed reporting and a good sense of humor.  Mr. Marquez is also owner of Western Slope Residential Services providing owner representation, construction, remodeling and facilities oversight services for the Greater Durango Area.  Past Western Slope clients include national large scale developers requiring a local representative to oversee ranch construction operations, winter damage remodel of luxury homes and investor rental turns. Mr. Marquez also has experience in public school building construction.  Western Slope Residential Services is properly bonded and insured.  He is a graduate of the Arizona Builder's Alliance Leadership Forum and graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Communications and Spanish.  Mr. Marquez is fluent Spanish speaking, a sports fan and an avid fly-fisherman.  Jaime and Luis have 3 young boys.




Dolores Overton, Director of Financial Services - Dolores brings extensive background in finance, budgeting and banking. She has been with Sterling since January of 2009, and oversees the financial operations for all of the Sterling managed companies.


Maile King, Director of Client Services - Maile is the company's Director of Client Services, working as the marketing specialist, Office Manager, and Brokerage Administrator.  Maile is also involved with The Sterling Concierge  services. She has been with Mrs. Marquez and Sterling since graduating from Fort Lewis College in early 2008, and has been instrumental in assisting in the formation of The Sterling Companies.


Taryn Yates, Property Manager - Taryn is the newest addition to The Sterling Companies and joins us with over 17 years of combined property management and real estate experience.  Taryn has managed commercial, residential and multifamily properties in Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.  Taryn has been a licensed realtor and a member of the National Association of Realtors since 1998.  Taryn is a native Arizonian and recently relocated to Durango with her husband, son and daughter. 


Kelli Petersen, Leasing Manager at Hillcrest Apartments - Kelli applies her organization and strong ethics to all that she does. In her previous career, Kelli managed all operations of a small local business, from staffing and daily business to the financials and owner reporting. She also has banking experience. Her strength in the leasing office is critical and Sterling is certain she has growth potential with our firm in property management leadership.


Zack Whitaker, Maintenance Supervisor at Hillcrest Apartments - Zack has been on-site at Hillcrest Apartments for over a year and involved in the daily maintenance and repair needs of the community. He has unparalleled attention to detail and organization. His background includes a proud stint in the Navy and work in various maintenance type industries.
